My ideas have their roots in the Principia Mathematica by Alfred North Whitehead and Bertrand Russell. Also the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus by Ludwig Wittgenstein. It is a modification of Russell’s Multiple Relation Theory
of Belief. I have tried to answer Willard van Orman Quine‘s concerns about intensional contexts. Mine is a multiple relative product theory of belief. In it there is a intensional relative product between relations. I use ,”R” and “S” for the relations. R is the relation between words and ideas of objects. S is the relation between ideas of objects and objects. Objects are events, universals, and logical constants of various sorts. Common language is possible because we come to mostly agree on the R | S relational products. All these are taken (at least almost always) intensionally. We rarely know extensions. The problems with intensional contexts are caused by using extensions where only intensions may be used. We cannot know two classes are equal unless we know all their members. But if we go beyond our knowledge and so judge, errors can occur. Talk about extensions may be reduced to talk about intensions, but not vice versa. Two extensions may be equal where the intensions are not equal. In fact, upon analysis, extensions disappear altogether.
